To provide an opportunity for girls to learn the game of lacrosse, fair play, teamwork and an appreciation for the game.

Welcome to Newton Girls Lacrosse!

Thanks to everyone for a great 2017 season!

Registration for the 2018 season opens November 1 and runs through the first week in January.

Newton Girls Lacrosse is an instructional program with the goals of teaching girls sportsmanship, lacrosse skills, and to be a good team player. Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing sports in the U.S., mainly because it is so much fun to play!

A current US Lacrosse membership (must be renewed each year) is required to register with NGL and is available on the US Lacrosse website.

Registration for the spring season of NGL opens November 1st and closes mid January each year.

Practices begin the last week of March and run through the first weeks of June.

Games against other towns are on Sunday afternoons and start in April and run through the first weeks of June.  Our youngest players, the 1st/2nd graders have games in the second half of the season, in May and June.

The Jamboree is held on the second Sunday in June at Lincoln-Sudbury High School - a great end-of-season event for players in all of the towns in the league!

Equipment required for all players: a girls' lacrosse stick, girls' lacrosse goggles, and a colored mouth guard (clear and white mouth guards are illegal in girls' lacrosse).

We get a lot of inquiries about off-season lacrosse clinics/camps for Newton girls in grades 1 through 8.
Some options include:
Newton Community Education (summer camp with high school coach Kate O'Leary--see below)
Newton Parks and Rec (eg winter clinics at Newton North HS in Jan/Feb)
Local schools/colleges (eg Fessenden, BC, Harvard, Babson)
Local sports facilities (eg Forekicks, the Fieldhouse in Sudbury, and Teamworks).
Lacrosse club teams (Mass Elite/Achieve, Revolution Lacrosse, Laxachusetts, 3D Lacrosse, ...) sometimes offer off-season clinics to the general public, too.
