To provide an opportunity for girls to learn the game of lacrosse, fair play, teamwork and an appreciation for the game.

My my My my
Welcome to Newton Girls Lacrosse!

Registration for the 2018 season opens November 1st and runs through January 5th.

Newton Girls Lacrosse is an instructional program with the goals of teaching girls sportsmanship, lacrosse skills, and to be a good team player. Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing sports in the U.S., mainly because it is so much fun to play!

A current US Lacrosse membership (must be renewed each year) is required to register with NGL and is available on the US Lacrosse website.

Registration for the spring season of NGL opens November 1st and closes the first week in January each year.  Registration closes so early as our league requires us to register teams in January.  Registration is open for girls in grades 1-8 who live in or attend school in Newton.

Practices begin the last week of March and run through the first weeks of June.  The past 2 years we practiced Monday and Wednesday evenings 6-7pm at Weeks field.  We hope to keep this same time slot and field location, but will not know about field availability until we get closer to the season.
Teams When grade 1-2 teams are made we try to keep schools together.  Our goal with all other teams is to make them even.  One mutual friend request is allowed for grades 3-8.  Girls must play at their grade level.

Games against other towns are on Sunday afternoons and will be on April 8th, 22nd, 29th, May 6th, 13th, 20th and June 3rd, 10th for grades 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8.  Grade 1-2 will play each other in some form on Sunday afternoons for the first half of the season starting on April 8th and will play games against other towns the 2nd half of the season.

A Jamboree will be held on June 17th at Lincoln-Sudbury High School - a great end-of-season event for players in all of the towns in the league!  You can choose if you want your daughter to participate in this event or not.  We will send out more information during the season regarding this event and looking for a headcount of who wants to play.

Equipment required for all players: a girls' lacrosse stick, girls' lacrosse goggles, and a colored mouth guard (clear and white mouth guards are illegal in girls' lacrosse).
Select teams (Pioneer League) There will be tryouts, announced closer to the season, for a 5-6 and also a 7-8 select team if there are enough girls interested for each.  These teams offer the opportunity for players to play more competitive lacrosse. These teams will play games on April 13th, 29th, May 4th, 11th, 18th and June 1st with a possible tourament of champions on June 8th for 7-8 select teams.
